Dad shows color

Hi all. My dad and his girlfriend came back from a holiday to the sun today. Apparently the sun had been able to color them somewhat because my dad had definitely gained a couple of shades more color than he usually walks around with. It did not look too bad on him tough, I think it just took some getting used to. It's probably the same thing as when someone goes for a haircut and looks 'different' for a couple of days.

We're still here

Hi all. Nothing much happened last week so this post is just to let you know we are still alive. Sometimes weeks go by at the speed of light (and we are talking about really bright light here ;-) and you don't remember anything that happened afterwards. Last week was one of them.

I did however went on a trip around the world in the BX. Well okay, but it felt like going around the world anyway. In fact the journey went to IJsselstein where Jan lives. We had a fun day together, just like old times. And I miss the good old days but then again, who doesn't?

Jos Verstappen fanclub
Monday, January 21, 2002
at : 1/21/2002 11:00:00 am

Hi all. The Jos Verstappen Fanclub day. I got invited by my snookermate Bas to join him to this event. Bas is a member of the fan club and members are allowed to bring one friend. That was me. It was cool to see Jos himself live on stage so to speak. Jos was interviewed by Mr. Formula One himself: Olav Mol who's reputation of enormous knowledge combined with a equally large dosis of humor during the reporting the Formula 1 races is well known by the Formula 1 fans in Holland and beyond. The event was due to start at about two o clock but while this interview was well on it's way the highways were still filled with people on their way trying to get to it. This made the organisation decide to repeat the entire interview and the show at a later time so everybody could enjoy it. Both Bas and me were kind of exhausted after standing on our feet for about five! straight hours. Hey we're not eighteen anymore! We just look like it :-)

Lord of the Rings part II
Sunday, January 06, 2002
at : 1/06/2002 11:00:00 am

Hi all. Hehe ... part II ... got you fooled there *grin* Stefan, my sister and me decided that we wanted to see The Lord of the Rings again only this time in a really big theater to experience the movie the way it must have been ment. I was in charge of the reservations and started calling the cinema. The first choice was the Centrum Theater in Nijmegen which is by far my most favorite on this side of the country. (the most favorite is the Toushinski Theater in Amsterdam by the way) After being put on hold for about fifteen minutes the friendly voice on the other end simply told me that their theater was not running Lord of the rings ... bummer :-) Okay not to worry, there are more theaters in Nijmegen. The next call went better. Reservation number was '12345' (okay okay, so I don't remember it too well. I'm thirty now remember?) and there we were standing in line at the Carolus Theater. 'What was your number again' asked the friendly lady in the booth. '12345' I answered. Frowning eyebrowes behind the counter as the result. 'And for which movie are you here' she tried again. 'Lord of the rings' I answered happy, smiling at his sister and Stefan, still unaware of the problem. 'Oh, but we don't run that movie here' she said. You will have to go to the Calypso Theater. Ah. Well okay. See you later. (sigh) So in the end we were looking at this film in about the same size theater we saw it in the first time .... Life is hard and still full of surprises ;-)

Helping out
Saturday, January 05, 2002
at : 1/05/2002 11:00:00 am

Hi all. Matje's sister decided to go 'digital' in the new year and bought a brand new computer. Naturaly there was something wrong with it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have heard about her buying the machine in the first place. So there he was, not even one whole week in the new year, fiddling with somebody's machine again. Which was fine of course because this is what I likes doing just about most. And after all creating smiles on peoples faces is allways a nice thing to do, right?

Happy newyear

Hi all. Happy newyear everybody! And lets make this one a good one. For myself I'm expecting this year to start better than the last one ended, but that shouldn't be a problem I guess. (Fingers crossed ;-)

This is the end
Tuesday, January 01, 2002
at : 1/01/2002 11:00:00 am

Hi all. So this is it then right? The end of two thousand and one. Due to the trouble I had with my job (or what's left of it) I wasn't really in the mood for celebrating. So I thought up a little plan.

To everybody who asked me where I was going to be I said I was invited to come to the Matchroom snooker center for the party end to people from Matchroom I mentioned parents / relatives and such, but in the end I was simply at home which was nice enough for this year.

Well this has by far been the most lonely new years evening ever in my life so next year I'll think up a better plan. This is no good either.

On the other hand there will be plenty more of these yearchanges so not to worry too much.
